Yesterday’s engagement at the House of Chiefs stands as a powerful reminder of what purposeful leadership looks like. I sincerely commend the Honourable Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly for creating a platform that brings youth organisations across the state into meaningful dialogue on issues that directly affect our future.
The openness to listen, engage, and act on concerns such as housing challenges, youth development, and social responsibility reflects a leadership style that is people-centred and forward-thinking. Of particular importance is the commitment to legislative action that will regulate the activities of house agents and curb extortion, a menace that has made access to decent housing increasingly difficult for many residents.
I am confident that these promises will surely be fulfilled because our Speaker is a young, active citizen who has consistently made us proud from day one. His track record of responsiveness, courage, and people-oriented leadership gives us every reason to expect even greater outcomes in the days ahead.
Equally commendable is the emphasis on deliberate investment in modern skill acquisition centres. This vision recognises that the strength of Oyo State lies in a skilled, innovative, and self-reliant youth population equipped to compete and thrive in today’s world.
I also applaud the strong moral stance taken in urging young people to shun social vices and embrace creativity, innovation, and productivity. This balanced approach of opportunity and responsibility is exactly what our society needs at this time.
This kind of inclusive governance gives hope, builds trust, and reassures the youth that their voices truly matter. Under such leadership, Oyo State will continue to record meaningful progress driven by the energy, ideas, and commitment of its young people.
May God continue to bless, strengthen, and guide the Honourable Speaker as he leads with vision and dedication in service to the people.
