As we celebrate Eid al-Fitr, I extend my warm greetings to Muslim faithful across Oyo State, especially the vibrant and energetic youths who represent the future of our land.
Eid is more than a religious celebration. It is a reflection of discipline, sacrifice, and the values that shape responsible individuals and stronger communities. These are the same values deeply rooted in our Yoruba culture, where respect, integrity, and communal living define who we are.
As Yoruba youths, we must understand that our strength lies not only in our numbers but in our identity. The spirit of Omoluabi teaches us to live with honor, to respect others, and to contribute meaningfully to society. Ramadan has reminded us of self-control and purpose, and Eid now calls us to live out those lessons in our daily lives.
This is a time for young people to rise beyond distractions and negative influences, and instead embrace growth, unity, and cultural pride. Our traditions and values are not outdated, they are our foundation for leadership, excellence, and progress.
I urge every young person to remain focused, responsible, and committed to building a future we can all be proud of. Let us use this season to strengthen our bonds, support one another, and continue to represent the true spirit of Yoruba land wherever we find ourselves.
May Almighty Allah accept our fasting, reward our sacrifices, and guide our steps as we continue to grow as individuals and as a people.
Eid Mubarak to all Yoruba youths and the entire Muslim Ummah.
Signed
Oladimeji Ibrahim Ayinla
Chairman, Yoruba Youth Council (Oyo State)
