Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has taken a swipe at the leadership structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, stating that Chief Adebayo Adelabu lacks the political capacity to effectively organise and reposition the party in the state.
Governor Makinde made the remarks while reacting to recent political developments, stressing that the APC in Oyo State remains disjointed and directionless due to weak leadership and internal contradictions. According to him, a party that hopes to challenge for power must first demonstrate unity, competence, and a clear understanding of grassroots politics.
The governor also criticised the broader composition and direction of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, noting that many Nigerians expected a government anchored on national unity, inclusiveness, and competence. He argued that those expectations have not been met, as economic hardship and policy inconsistencies continue to affect citizens across the country.
Makinde maintained that leadership goes beyond ambition and media presence, emphasising that effective governance and party organisation require vision, structure, and genuine connection with the people.
He reiterated his commitment to people-focused governance in Oyo State, assuring residents that his administration remains dedicated to delivering dividends of democracy, irrespective of political distractions.
